Midsummer Night's Song

In this modern, upbeat, musical adaptation of Shakespeare's fairytale, the fairy kingdom becomes linked to human life by romance.

Speaking twenty first century English, Bottom finds modern, upbeat music, song and dance the most effective way to woo Titania, who like all the other fairies, speaks Elizabethan English.

Our storyline stays close to the original, although much is made of how Oberon's mood has changed the seasons. Despite the time of year, crops are failing, the humans shiver in scarves, overcoats and gloves until summer eventually returns when Oberon and Titania reconcile.

In addition to being great family entetainment, this show is an ideal introduction to Shakespeare for children.
